The Site Name is system-generated when a new meter has a valid service address. Valid service addresses must include a city and state to be autogenerated. For example, a meter with the service address "123 MAIN ST, ATLANTA, GA, 30315" will auto-create a site with the Site Name "SITE-123MNSTTLNTG30315" (it appends 'SITE-' and removes vowels from the service address). However, Site Names can be manually updated for both new and existing sites.
For instance, if you own a distribution center in Atlanta, Georgia, you can create a Site Name like "Distribution Center - ATL". Additionally, you have the option to add a site number and/or a site code to map this site record to keys in your system. For example, if "Distribution Center - ATL" is distribution center number 12 and the distribution center code 2 in your system, you can add Site Number: 12 and Site Code: 2.
